Stonehouse is located on the River Avon in the heart of rural Lanarkshire, in an area of natural beauty and historical interest. Situated on the A71 only 30 minutes from Glasgow and 1 hour from Edinburgh, Stonehouse is ideally situated to access both the scenic beauty of the Clyde Valley and the historical and cultural life of Scotland's two principal cities.

Like many a rural village, Stonehouse relies on the spirit and resourcefulness of character of it's people to ensure the community continues to thrive. The many recreational, charitable and traditional events, such as the Gala Day and the Agricultural Show, are a testament to the willingness of the people of Stonehouse to work together to make it a desirable place to live.
